The XXIV Olympic Winter Games, the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, are being held in Beijing, China.
Bing Dwen Dwen is the mascot of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Combining the panda image with the super-energy-rich ice crystal shell, the shell shape of the head is taken from the ice and snow sports helmet, decorated with a colorful halo, and the overall image resembles an astronaut.
Today, we use the CNC oscillating knife cutting machine to make a Bing Dwen Dwen. The materials used are three materials commonly used in the sealing industry:
1mm white PTFE sheet for making white parts such as face and body;
5mm black rubber sheet for making black parts such as limbs;
3mm green non-asbestos sheet for making colorful halo.
So, let’s get started.
First of all, we use automatic recognition software to identify the outline of Bing Dwen Dwen, and output the vector graphics in DXF format.
Then, we import the vector graphics into the cutting system, and decompose the graphics according to the different materials used in each part, so that we can obtain 3 different cuts for cutting PTFE, rubber and non-asbestos plates document.
In the third step, we use pneumatic oscillating tools to cut three different sealing materials – rubber sheet, PTFE sheet and non-asbestos sheet, the cutting speed is 80mm/s, 80mm/s, 40mm/s, and the cutting air pressure is 0.6MPA, The effect is as follows:
Finally, we assembled the cut pieces to get the lovely Bing Dwen Dwen.
Now, let’s watch the whole process of making Bing Dwen Dwen through video.
